The MOT Inspection
Your vehicle will be inspected by a VOSA qualified MOT examiner. Should the vehicle fail it's examination, we will contact you immediately to advise you of what it has failed on. Roughly 30% of vehicles fail their MOT test, but the good news is that the vast majority pass. Occasionally a vehicle may pass the test, but have advisories recorded against it. Advisories specify certain faults of a non major nature, but were found on inspection and should be addressed as soon as possible. What happens if my vehicles fails the MOT
As already mentioned, we would contact you to let you know that it has failed and what it has failed on. Once a vehicle fails the inspection, the fail is recorded and it becomes illegal to drive the vehicle on a public road. However, your quite entitled to recover the vehicle by maybe using a transporter firm who can take the vehicle to your chosen repairer. As a matter of course we would give you a price to complete the repair and once the work is complete have the vehicle re-inspected to obtain an MOT certificate. Whether we carry out the work or not, there is no charge for a re-inspection as long as it is carried out within 10 days of the initial MOT.
